After beating Georgia Tech, 7-6, in the opening game of the NCAA Tournament's Gainesville Regional, UConn moved into the winner's bracket to face Florida at 7:05 p.m. for the right to go to the regional final on Sunday.
UConn has stayed hot and is now 14-1 in its last 15 games after the close finish Friday against the Yellow Jackets.
Florida defeated Bethune-Cookman by a score of 9-3 Friday night, having won four out of its last five games. They will be sending a potential #1 overall pick in next week's MLB Draft to the hill in AJ Puk.

Bottom 1: Bobby Melley takes an AJ Puk fastball over the scoreboard in right field to take a 1-0 lead.
Top 3: Danny Reyes, the freshman left fielder, takes one to the opposite field that gets over, just inside the right field foul pole. It's tied at 1.
Top 3: A single that Hill stops but cannot corral gives Florida another run. 2-1 Gators.
Bottom 3: With runners on the corners, Sundberg ties the game with a fielder's choice. 2-2 tie.
End 3: UConn is unable to do further damage and the game is still tied at 2.
Top 4: Kay just misses and gives off a one-out walk. Two singles to left later, and that baserunner crosses the plate. 3-2 Gators.
Top 5: Peter Alonso breaks out the tape measure for the third time this regional. He hits one over the left field bleachers. 5-2 Gators.
End 5: It was a wild half-inning. UConn loads the bases with nobody out, AJ Puk gets pulled mid-count and UConn ties the game with three runs. 5-5 tie.
End 6: UConn and Florida are tied at 5. It is shaping up to be a great finish between the Huskies and the Gators. Devin Over will take the mound in the seventh to face the top of the Florida order.
Top 8: Florida leads it off with a home run. 6-5 Gators
End 9: Florida's elite closer blows them away. 6-5 final.
