Last month, Mike McMahon of College Hockey News reported that Frozen Fenway would be making a return and that UConn would be playing Maine.

Hockey East has now announced the dates of the event, which will take place across two weekends in January.

UConn and Maine will be doing battle at Fenway Park on January 14 with Northeastern and New Hampshire meeting there on the same day. The previous weekend will see Boston University versus UMass and Providence College against BC.

Puck drop and ticketing information will be announced at a later date.

The Huskies are 2-2-3 all-time against Maine in a series that dates back to the 1977-78 season. Most recently, the Huskies traveled up to Orono to face the Black Bears for a weekend series last season. UConn took the first game, 1-0, and tied the second game, 1-1.

In game one, Shawn Pauly scored early, at 6:24 of the first period and Rob Nichols saved all 44 shots Maine threw at him, a career high.

Game two was similarly low-scoring, with Max Letunov scoring at 2:52 of the third period on the power play to save the tie for UConn. Nichols stopped 38 of the 39 shots he saw in the game to cap off a brilliant weekend performance.
