Moriah Jefferson Picked Second Overall By San Antonio Stars

The explosive point guard will be going back to her home state to start her professional career.

As the prophecies...er... mock drafts foretold, Moriah Jefferson will be heading back to Texas after the San Antonio Stars made her the second overall pick in this year's WNBA Draft.

Jefferson was one of the most exciting players to watch in UConn history, holding it down at point guard with style these past few years. Besides her lightning speed and defensive intensity, one of the most notable aspects of Jefferson's career has been her ability to develop her shooting touch and add another weapon to her arsenal.

While teammate Breanna Stewart garnered most of the attention surrounding this particular UConn dynasty, Jefferson was certainly no slouch. The clear-cut second best player in the country all season, Jefferson hauled in a number of honors and accolades as well, including two straight Nancy Lieberman awards for the nation's top point guard and two years on multiple All-American teams as well.

In case you happen to be a San Antonio fan checking this out, you should be very excited. Here's a small taste.

Congratulations to Mo and best of luck in the next step of her basketball career!
