After winning the American Athletic Conference Tournament and securing its first auto-bid since 2011, the UConn Huskies have earned a 9-seed in the NCAA Tournament in the South Region, where they will face Colorado in the first round.
The top seed in the South Region is the Kansas Jayhawks and would likely be UConn's second-round opponent should the Huskies win. Villanova, Miami, California and Maryland are seeded 2-5, in that order.
The game will be the first one played in Des Moines, Iowa this Thursday at 1:30 p.m.
Colorado is currently ranked 55th nationally in KenPom, with the offense ranking 115th in the country and the defense 26th. UConn has moved up to 25th, with the 62nd-ranked offense and 13th-ranked defense.
