Canadian Women's Basketball and current UConn Huskies guard Kia Nurse got to spend three days watching her rival, USA Basketball, practice in the same training facility that she does.
Nurse was an instrumental part in leading Canada to the Pan Am Games gold medal with a win over USA Basketball that had her college teammates Breanna Stewart and Moriah Jefferson. Nurse then helped lead Canada to an Olympic berth when they won the FIBA Americas Olympic qualifying tournament over Cuba.
While she didn't video anything (said jokingly), she spent some time watching them practice. With USA Basketball having her collegiate coach Geno Auriemma at the helm, Nurse already knows most of the plays that the team runs. And as we all know, it doesn't matter what the play is, it all comes down to the execution of said play.
So for Nurse it was more of seeing how 16 of the best basketball players, including her UConn teammate Stewart, go through a practice. Plus she got a chance to watch her childhood idol Maya Moore on the court.
