The Huskies face off against Tulane at home in what promises to be a defensive battle.

Welp here we are.

UConn Football’s 2016 season will come to an end today in what will be a quiet afternoon at Pratt & Whitney Stadium. After it ends, the future of the program enters a period of uncertainty.

Will David Benedict show Bob Diaco the door? Is there someone out there who is legitimately an upgrade and wants to walk into this situation?

Common sense dictates that UConn can’t afford the buyout which it would incur by relieving Diaco of his duties, even though the dour results of this season probably warrant giving it a hard look.

Even in the likely event Diaco stays, there will still be a major shakeup on the staff, and we could see a few more key players leave the program.

Meanwhile, a Tulane team is visiting the Rent for the first time ever in the illustrious history of this #RivalryWeek game, which has a two-game score of 15-10 in favor of the Green Wave. Last year’s barnburner finished 7-3 in favor of the Huskies thanks to a pick-six from Jamar Summers for their only points.

This game should be plenty interesting, even if it’s for all the wrong reasons. This is the open thread, folks. Thanks for following our work across the football season, we hop you enjoyed it.
