NCAA Basketball: Maui Invitational Day Two- Connecticut vs Chaminade Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

In case you thought this trip to Maui couldn't get much worse, it did. Today it was announced that forward Terry Larrier tore his ACL in the loss to Oklahoma State on Monday and is out for the rest of the year.

In Larrier’s spot, Vance Jackson is expected to step up on the wing. He showed promise last night, however he still seems slow at times and needs to prove that he can be more than just a shooter.

Also on the injury front, Alterique Gilbert is reportedly going to discuss what he should do this season in regards to his injured shoulder with his family, leading some to believe he may get a medical redshirt as well.

On a positive note, the Huskies have a chance to come out of Maui with a quality win over No. 14 Oregon tonight, who needed overtime to take down Tennessee. While UConn struggled at times with Chaminade, Kevin Ollie's squad has scored 90+ points in back-to-back games and seems to be coming together.

Jalen Adams has caught fire in the past two games, scoring over 30 points in both matchups. After a tough first half against OSU with nine turnovers, Adams has been the Huskies’ best player throughout the tournament. Kemba Walker had his breakout in Maui and hopefully Adams can build on his first two performances in a similar way.

A win tonight would be huge in terms of building back the respect that was lost when they fell to Wagner and Northeastern. At the very least, this team needs to show that they can at least compete with good teams and the first three games were a fluke more than anything.
