The UConn Huskies return to action tonight when they host Northeastern University at Gampel Pavilion at 7 p.m. Feel free to check out our full preview here.

Coming off a disappointing season-opening loss to Wagner, the Huskies will need a better effort to come out with a victory. Rodney Purvis and Jalen Adams especially struggled and the two starting guards will need bounce-bank performances after combining to shoot 6 for 22 from the field.

UConn was also out-muscled on the boards against the Seahawks and will need their bigs to play tougher to control the backboard and initiate the fast break.

The Huskies were the most successful with a three-guard look, featuring Adams and freshmen Alterique Gilbert and Christian Vital. UConn’s guards have struggled defensively and Northeastern features a four-year starter at point in T.J. Williams. The Huskies will have to defend him well to grab their first victory of the season.

Already, Kevin Ollie has made a change to the starting lineup. Tonight’s starting five will be:

Jalen Adams

Alterique Gillbert

Vance Jackson

Terry Larrier

Amida Brimah
