After Friday night’s 6-0 rout, the Huskies look to make it a sweep to start the season against Alabama-Huntsville. They dominated that first matchup and hope the theme of puck possession and multiple power play chances and goals will continue into Saturday’s matinee.
Puck drop is at 4:05 p.m. and those who cannot attend can follow me on Twitter @ShawnMMcGrath for some live updates from XL Center.
Here are the lines for Mike Cavanugh’s crew:

Third period
13:09- UConn goal! Evan Richardson gets his third of the year to give UConn a three-goal lead.
16:21- Spencer Naas takes the lead pass from Miles Gendron and goes five-hole on the breakaway. 4-0 UConn.
Second period
7:00- outside of a Joe Masonius penalty (2:59- cross checking) the Huskies have continued to be the better team on the ice.
8:47- 35 seconds of four-on-three time for UConn before 4:25 of five-on-four after Richard Buri’s game misconduct for hitting from behind.
13:47- no goals, but the Huskies had lot of zone time and quite a few shots on net.
20:00- the Huskies will have 1:22 of power play time after a late penalty. Still 2-0 UConn.
First period
3:50- after keeping the puck in the zone for easily 90 seconds, Tage Thompson forces a turnover and goes bar down. 1-0 Huskies.
13:00- the Huskies’ forecheck has been incredible. Outside of the first two minutes and a power play, Alabama has spent almost no time in the offensive zone.
18:52- Kasperi Ojantakanen takes a shot, but Spencer Naas is there to put it in on the odd-man rush. Huskies lead 2-0.
20:00- end of the period and it looks like a continuation of last night’s affair. The Huskies have held the puck for a large portion of this game.
