UConn men’s soccer posted a 2-0-0 record this past week, taking victories against Providence and Tulsa in order to get their fifth consecutive win. As such, they had multiple players win conference weekly honors
Defender Simen Olafsen received Defensive Player of the Week after helping UConn notch 1-0 victories in both matches this week, providing crucial blocks and slide tackles to preserve two shutouts.
Abdou Mbacke Thiam made the conference’s honor roll for the second consecutive week. He scored the lone goal against Providence and assisted on Andrew Geres’ goal against Tulsa.
Scott Levene followed up last week’s goalkeeper of the week with an honor roll nod this week. Leven now has five clean sheets on the year, including the past three games in a row.
The Huskies are in action next on Saturday when the Cincinnati Huskies visit Morrone Stadium at 7 p.m.
Nationally, Ribeiro leads the nation with seven game-winning goals and is tied for the national lead in goals scored with 12. Her 32 points and 2.67 points per game are also tops in the country.
Rachel Hill was named to the weekly honor roll after scoring four goals last week, adding an assist. With her two goals last game, Hill took sole possession of third place on the UConn all-time scoring list with 55 career goals.
The Huskies start a two-match road trip to Texas Thursday at SMU before meeting Houston on Sunday.
