For the first time in four weeks, the UConn men’s soccer team will have a number before its name in the coaches’ poll.
The Huskies beat Cincinnati 5-0 on Saturday in its only match of the week and they moved into the rankings, checking in at No. 24.
They have won six consecutive matches and will look to extend that streak on Tuesday night against Yale in New Haven.
UConn’s final non-conference opponent, Boston College, picked up 16 points in the poll. The two teams will meet at Morrone Stadium next Tuesday, October 1
Meanwhile, the women stayed at No. 21 for the third straight week after a 1-0-1 week that included two games in Texas. Last Thursday, they drew with SMU nil-nil and beat Houston 1-0 on Sunday.
They also only have one remaining opponent that got votes in the poll. South Florida is in the received votes section of the poll, taking 36 points. The Bulls are coming to Morrone Stadium to play the Huskies on Thursday.
