UConn Football Upcoming Opponent Rundown: Week 4 Review

Find out how UConn's upcoming opponents fared in Week 4 of college football action!

James Guillory-USA TODAY Sports
BYU (2-2) - L to Michigan, 31-0

After narrowly losing to UCLA last week, BYU got obliterated by Michigan. Tanner Magnum apparently "Looked like a freshman" after a strong start to his collegiate career. Although they are not to be taken lightly, the Cougars are two miracle plays from being 0-4.

UCF (0-4) - L to South Carolina, 31-14

UCF's top running back, Willy Stanback, was dismissed from the team last week before taking a beating from South Carlina. Tough times in Central Florida. This is what you get for not accepting the ConFLiCT.

USF (1-2) - BYE
Cincinnati (2-2) - L to Memphis, 53-46

In what was a very scary scene, Cincinnati's starting quarterback Gunner Kiel was knocked unconscious on the field during the game. He attempted to slide but was hit by a Memphis defender. Kiel remained on the turf for a while, before being carted off the field. TV cameras did manage to capture Gunner communicating with medical personnel in the tunnel before heading to the hospital. Redshirt freshman Hayden Moore replaced Kiel, and broke the UC record for passing yards in a game with 557.

Get better soon, Gunner.

ECU (2-2) - W over Virginia Tech, 35-28

After taking a beatdown from Navy, the Pirates recovered to beat Virginia Tech. It's always good when fellow American members can beat P5 teams, especially the ACC. There are whispers of this becoming a "rivalry", but until someone makes a trophy and the other acts like they have no idea what is going on, I don't buy it.

Tulane (1-2) - BYE
Houston (3-0) - W over Texas State, 59-14

Houston used all two weeks of their preparation to annihilate Texas State. They open up conference play with Tulsa next week.

Temple (3-0) - BYE

Yeah, Temple is 3-0 like Houston, though they only beat UMass by 2 last week after starting the season with two impressive wins. The Owls are probably going to be 4-0 with Charlotte coming up next week.
