Storrs- Take a deep breath, UConn fans. The storm has passed. Kevin Ollie will remain the head coach of the University of Connecticut, for the time being.
UConn's Kevin Ollie has removed himself from consideration for the OKC head coaching position, sources told @CBSSports. Story coming.
— Jon Rothstein (@JonRothstein) April 23, 2015
In his three seasons at the helm, Ollie has a 72-33, with a National Championship in 2014. Having to replace him, following a disastrous 2015 where the Huskies failed to qualify for the NCAA Tournament, would have been a disaster for the program. Thankfully, Ollie will remain in Storrs, for the time being.
The fact of the matter is that Ollie is a hot commodity in the coaching world. He is charismatic, successful and has a tremendous amount of ties to the NBA. His name will continue to be in NBA head coaching rumors for the foreseeable future. UConn fans can rest easy for now, but it's looking like a spring tradition for the time being.
