Third Period
0:47 — UML GOAL: Tie game, as Nichols couldn't control the initial shot from C.J. Smith, allowing Ryan Collins to get in and finish the rebound.
11:58 — UCONN POWER PLAY: UConn goes on the power play after Tyler Mueller was whistled for elbowing.
12:38 — UCONN GOAL: Tage Thompson scores on the power play again, and UConn takes the lead. Absolute laser on the one-timer. Assists for Max Letunov and Joe Masonius.
Second Period
1:52 — UML GOAL: C.J. Smith equalizes on a rebound off a long shot from Niklas Folan. Rob Nichols had done a good job covering the puck until that point. Long, hard shot from Folan hit his pads and bounced out. Good read by Smith.
11:36 — UConn almost—and probably should have—reclaimed the lead on a 4-on-1 rush after UML hit the post. Tage Thompson and Joe Masonius connected on a give-and-go, but Thompson couldn't finish.
12:57 — UML POWER PLAY: The River Hawks get a great chance to take the lead with the power play. Jeff Wight called for roughing.
18:08 — UML GOAL: Nice passing between three River Hawks leads to a goal for A.J. White. UML takes the lead.
18:29 — UCONN GOAL: The Huskies trail for 21 seconds before Corey Ronan buries a backhanded shot from the slot. Puck trickled out to him, and he did well to finish.
19:41 — UCONN GOAL: This is nuts. Spencer Naas and Corey Ronan fight off a River Hawk battling for the puck behind the net. Naas gets it, goes to wrap it in near side and somehow beats Boyle. The UML goaltender looked to have the entire near side of the goal sealed.
END SECOND: Somehow, UConn is winning 3-2 after a wild end to the second period. Huskies have a 19-17 shot advantage.
First Period
5:30 — End-to-end action in the early going. Neither team with a great chance yet, but that's good news for the Huskies, who have been the victim of quick goals recently.
6:45 — UConn starting to get some good looks. A rebound on a long shot falls to Tage Thompson, but the freshman's effort is stopped point-blank by Kevin Boyle.
9:45 — Turnover leads to a chance for UML, but Adam Chapie is denied on the rush by Rob Nichols. Huskies need to start limiting turnovers. Been a plague of recent games.
10:27 — POWER PLAY: UML's Ryan Collins hit Spencer Naas along the boards and gets whistled for charging.
11:27 — UCONN GOAL: Tage Thompson gets his first goal since Nov. 13, burying a shot from high between the circles. Kevin Boyle never had a chance. Huskies take a 1-0 lead. Assists to Johnny Austin and Joe Masonius on the goal.

END FIRST: UConn leads 1-0 at the first intermission and has an 11-6 shot advantage. Good stuff so far from the Huskies. Poor starts have been the theme of this streak. Came out strong and did not change their game after the goal.
