If you don't know the story, UConn women's basketball sophomore Kia Nurse happens to come from an athletic family.
Her father, Richard, played in the CFL (Canadian Football League) while her mother, Cathy, played basketball at McMaster University in Canada.
The eldest of the Nurse children, Tamika, played college basketball at Oregon and Bowling Green. Kia's older brother Darnell was the 7th overall pick in the 2013 NHL Draft by the Edmonton Oilers and is now playing in the NHL.
By the way, her uncle is former Philadelphia Eagles star Donovan McNabb, who is married to her aunt, Raquel Nurse McNabb.
With Darnell in Boston last Monday for the Edmonton Oilers, Kia, the youngest of the Nurse children, was able to get up to TD Garden to grab dinner with her brother before the game. She then was able to watch his Oilers beat the Bruins 3-2 in overtime.
During media availability before Monday night's LSU game, Nurse talked about the visit with her brother as well as what it was like to see him playing on the biggest stage.
