UConn Football Recruiting: RB Nate Hopkins verbally commits to UConn

+

Hopkins is a 3-star running back from Texas who chose UConn over offers from Illinois, Army, Navy and Boise State.

Hopkins is the first verbal commitment for UConn from the state of Texas since 2013, when QB Richard Lagow, who never played a down, committed from Plano High. The last person to wear a Husky uniform from Texas was Michael Smith, a wide receiver from Houston, in the Class of 2008.

Hopkins, rated a 2-star prospect by Rivals and 3-star by 247 Sports, becomes the ninth member of the 2016 recruiting class. You can read more about him here.
