UConn Men's Basketball beats USF, 66-53

A late surge from Ryan Boatright pushes the Huskies past USF

David Butler II-USA TODAY Sports

Hartford-- A bigtime shooting display from UConn gives them a season sweep of the Florida schools. Improving to 11-7 on the year, the Huskies were led by Ryan Boatright. The senior has not looked like his usual self in the past few weeks, but today he was at his all time best. Setting a new career high with 28 points, Boat simply took over the second half.

Boat got support from Rodney Purvis, who continues to thrive as a 6th man. His 17 points today really stabilized the Huskies, especially during their long lull without a field goal. Purvis took advantage of the refs' liberal whistles today, getting to the line 12 times.

I'll have more later. This was a business event today. UConn did exactly what they needed to, no more, no less. On to Cincinnati.
