Gameday Preview: BYU at UConn, TV, Forecast, Game Time

New, comments

Less than 7 hours until kickoff!!!!

Thearon W. Henderson

We've waited a really long time for this.

No, I don't mean the eight months since the 2013 season ended. I mean that UConn fans have been waiting three years for this promising football program to resume its upward trajectory. Randy Edsall, regardless of how he left, built a solid foundation. Unfortunately the next guy took a sledgehammer and geriatric wrecking crew to that foundation at the worst possible time (conference realignment) and all hope seemed lost.

But a new head coach can change all that.

Bob Diaco is by all indications Paul Pasqualoni's polar opposite, and for the first time in years there is legitimate excitement surrounding the program. This feeling, the excitement, the Husky pride, the belief that we can and will do better, that is the feeling we have been waiting for.

I don't know what tonight will bring. This entire season might be more of a rebuild than most people think, but would you really be surprised if this UConn team found a way to win seven?

Either way it's really great to finally be excited for UConn Football again. Remember the program that quickly got on the Big East's level shortly after joining FBS? Yeah, that was us, and we're coming back with a vengeance.
