UConn won last night, which means we can enjoy the action today in peace. In our East Region our conference mates Memphis will be playing GW for the right to pursue the upset bid against Virginia. Speaking of upsets, UNC drew Providence for the Round of 64 and people are thinking the Friars could pull one off- much, much crazier things have already happened in this tournament. We'll also get a chance to watch Iowa State, our likely Sweet 16 opponent if we can beat 'Nova, play 14-seed NC Central.
In the general interest category I think there's a couple of really interesting match-ups. UMass/Tennessee should be a fun one with Tennessee hot off the comeback win over Iowa in the First Four. Tulsa is an up and comer who drew a UCLA team that has been known to play below their talent level and Danny Manning has really put a team together. Plus, the Golden Hurricanes will be in the AAC next year, so definitely worth a watch. A lot of people have been picking 12-seeded Stephen F. Austin and their 28 game win streak to upset 5-seeded VCU today, that should be an interesting one to watch.

Day One reminded us why we all care so much, and not just because UConn won. We saw these youngsters leave everything on the court and some achieve the unthinkable. Who gave North Dakota State a chance to beat Oklahoma? What about Dayton beating Ohio State on a last second shot in the first game of the day? Manhattan gave Louisville a scare, Pittsburgh actually won a game... anything can happen in March Madness. Enjoy the action folks and feel free to share your thoughts, comments and updates here on this thread.
