Second Intermission Report: UConn down 2-0 to the BU Terriers

So far the BU Terriers are outplaying the Huskies- adding to their lead in the second period.

BU was the better team for most of the second period-- quickly added to their lead after Cason Hohmann redirected a teammate's shot from the point to score on a power play 4:48 into the second period to make it 2-0. The Huskies had to kill two more power plays in the second half of the period.

Tervor Gerling had another scoring opportunity after he one-timed a pass across the net 8 minutes into the period, right afterward the Huskies earned a power play which saw the best scoring opportunity come from the short-handed opponents.

Shortly after the power play expired, the Huskies found themselves with another man-advantage after John MacLeod earned his third penalty of the game on an interference call at 9:32. Johnny Austin hit the crossbar on a shot from the blue line, but unfortunately the Huskies were unable to score.

The Huskies showed some life in the second period, but BU was fairly dominant this period as the shots and face-offs would suggest. The home team will need some third-period magic to end with a positive result today.
