Week 9 College Football: TV, Timing, Schedule

Everything you need to plan out your weekend of footballing

While UConn may get slaughtered tonight, there is at least one more college football game to watch if things get out of hand as two old Big East flames, Virginia Tech and Miami (FL) will face-off tonight in Blacksburg. While that match-up between ACC powerhouses may seem like a more intriguing game to watch, there is only one game tonight which features a ranked team. #GOAAC

The AAC continues its dominance of alternate night football when USF takes on Cincinnati. Watch at your own peril- it should be a wild and wacky one with Cincinnati's swiss-cheese defense going up against USF's...ummm... complete and utter unpredictability. The poor Bulls were actually winning at the half against ECU last week, but couldn't close the deal and actually got shut out in the second half and had to once again watch a program-defining (maybe too dramatic, maybe not) win slip through their hands. As bad as being a UConn Football fan has been these past few years, make no mistake, rooting for USF is much, much worse. (hashtag 2011 Fiesta Bowl Participation Trophy)

At 3:30, the recently minted No. 1 Mississippi State looks to hold on to their ranking on the road against 5-2 Kentucky, who had a surprising start to the season but lost a little bit of steam after getting crushed by LSU last week 41-3. Kentucky may have 5 wins, but most of them are against crap teams, look for them to take it in the face this weekend. Here is an artists rendering on the recent history of Kentucky football:

At one point they actually had a guy named Joker coaching their team. You can't make this stuff up.

For those of you who love to hate (and, honestly, who doesn't?) Syracuse will be visiting Clemson this weekend, and things are not going well up north. The Orange were riding a four-game losing streak until Wake Forest was kind enough to let them win a game. So with wins against Villanova (in overtime, by one point) and Central Michigan, our former rivals look to add No. 21 Clemson to their esteemed list of conquests. More likely, though, is that the Orange lose, badly, and hopefully we get another opportunity to see head coach Scott Shafer teach us a thing or two about perspective.

Have a great weekend Husky fans, and enjoy the action.
