UConn vs. No.15 Quinnipiac: End 1st Period Intermission Report

UConn 2, Quinnipiac 0

Quinnipiac came out early with a fore-check that seemed to frazzle the Huskies. After a shaky start to the half UConn re-established themselves quickly with a flurry of shots midway through the quarter.

UConn went on the power play at 13:32 on a Quinnipiac cross-checking and converted on a wrister from Poe that was tipped in Evan Richardson (the BC transfer) on a power-play possession with four forwards (if you count Segalla who was listed as a LW in the line chart today).

After the goal the Huskies came out with a burst of energy and scored again on a rebound by Trevor Gerling with :38 seconds remaining in the quarter.

Nichols stood out with 10 saves against a very fast Bobcats team.
