Bryan Cespedes, an offensive tackle from New London, CT committed to UConn on Friday. He is the first offensive lineman to commit to the class of 2015, though tight end Chris Lee may move over to the line. Cespedes is a little on the light side, but of course he should and will and bulk up before seeing the field at UConn.
Like many of the players in this recruiting class, Cespedes is a work in progress. After all, he only started playing organized football after his sophomore year. Bob Diaco and the staff found Cespedes while recruiting one of his teammates, and New London High head coach Duane Maranda mentioned that the 6-foot-7, 260 pound tackle could be a "monster" and that "whoever got Bryan was going to get a steal." He then compared him to another Connecticut lineman, former Husky Zach Hurd.
This commitment brings the class of 2015 to a total of 17 commitments- it is believed that Diaco is looking to add around 25 players in total.
GO HUSKIES!!
