ESPN is reporting that center Tyler Olander has been suspended indefinitely from the men's basketball team. Olander has been a solid contributor during his time at UConn, though he's probably gotten more minutes than he should have given the paucity of depth in our front-court. This is not Olander's first run in with authorities as he was arrested in Florida this past spring break.
The suspension leaves us quite thin up front. With Kentan Facey not cleared by the NCAA, things might get dicey again down low. We also have a project type player in Amidah Brimah coming in, but he's raw and probably not ready for the type of playing time he might get if Olander's gone.
