Welcome one and all to the OpenThread for UConn's last ever Big East basketball game. The Huskies are hosting the always-pesky Providence Friars on RJ Evans' senior day, and they'll be looking to wrap up Kevin Ollie's first season with 20 wins despite a rash of injuries late in the year.
It's hard not to think of the Huskies as some sort of MASH unit right now, as Omar Calhoun (wrist) Tyler Olander (foot), and Niels Giffey (finger) will all be out with injuries. There is some good news for the Huskies though: Shabazz Napier will be starting, and when Shabazz plays UConn has hope. But they're still short-handed: Leon Tolksdorf and Brendan Allen are going to be the only scholarship players available to come off the bench, so UConn is going to have to play its best to win.
This, of course, is UConn's last basketball game as a member of the Big East, so there's a little extra on the line.
The game tips off at noon on ESPNU. This is your OpenThread. Join the conversation below. Go Huskies, and remember: take the stairs because escalators are for cowards.
