UConn QB recruit Richard Lagow: "I'm looking at all options"

The big story of UConn's signing day wasn't how wound up committing to the Huskies, but rather who didn't: Plano, Texas quarterback Richard Lagow. Lagow spoke with 247 Sports yesterday afternoon to give an update on his situation, and said that while he hasn't ruled out coming to UConn, he's "looking at all options."

Lagow again said that he was sick yesterday, and said it was only after a doctors visit and a nap did he learn of UConn's surprise signing of quarterback Kivon Taylor, which is what has delayed his decision. The timing on that seems convenient if nothing else, but Lagow said he still hasn't ruled out locking himself into a career as a Husky, but that he needs to get in touch with UConn's coaching staff first:

"If I don't sign with UCONN it won't be because I was afraid of competition. I just have to see what's going on."

...

"I haven't had a chance to talk to the coaches yet today," he said. "I've talked to the new OC and I'm still welcome there but I just need to see what is going on."

...

"I'm not sure exactly where I'll be signing," Lagow said. "I'm not sure when it will be. I'm not saying I won't be signing with UCONN but I'm looking at all options. Anybody that wants to talk to me and wants to recruit me, I'll be open to them and listen to what they have to say."

We'll have more as we hear it, and it'd certainly be great to have Lagow as a Husky, but after Paul Pasqualoni's comments yesterday, I'm not sure I'd bet on it.
