Hey, did you know there’s a football game tonight?
Shortly after the glorious beginning of the 2013-2014 men’s basketball season tips off in Brooklyn, something likely to be far less glorious will kick off in East Hartford. 0-7 UConn will tangle with no. 20 Louisville, who’s made the trip north for a shot at revenge of last year’s 23-20 Husky upset win.
UConn’s search for its first win of 2013 likely will not end tonight, as the Cardinals are led by future no. 1 NFL pick, quarterback Teddy Bridgewater and a ferocious defense. However, strides can be made with a good showing against a club that should find itself in a top-tier bowl by the end of the season. The Huskies have had nearly two weeks to fix their myriad of errors, return to fundamentals and gameplan.
We’ll see what they’ve come up with.
Tentatively scheduled for 8:36, tonight’s game could get pushed back depending on the finish of the basketball opener. We’ll know by 7:30 and keep you updated via Twitter.
Now, let’s get ready for some football.
