Now that all that nasty football nonsense is out of the nation's way for the next nine months, it's time for everybody to turn their attention back to the important business of college basketball, and just in time UConn is hosting DePaul tonight at Gampel Pavilion. The students aren't back on campus yet, but hopefully there will be enough of a presence there to give DePaul a nice welcome.

It'd be especially nice to have a bit of a homefield advantage tonight, because this isn't the typical horrid DePaul team you're used to. Sure, they're still not great, but they are 10-5 (against a paper soft schedule) and seem to be relatively competent (KenPom has them at 111 overall). More importantly, DePaul still has one-time UConn commit Cleveland Melvin, who is currently averaging 16.7 ppg and 7.7 rpg, and he'll be going up against a UConn front court that doesn't appear to have any answers for him, especially the way UConn's big men have been attracting fouls of late.

The game tips at 7 p.m. on SNY. This is your OpenThread. Go Huskies and remember, take the stairs, because escalators are for cowards.
