Welcome back to the Big East Football Power Rankings. Every week the editors of SB Nation's Big East blogs will cast their vote in an attempt to measure the current state of the Big East. The results are below.
Welcome to the third year of SB Nation's Big East Football Power Rankings. Once a week we put our heads together and make eyeball judgments on the strength of the contest that in no way are ever based on personal biases. You know that statement is true because I somehow resisted the impulse to vote Syracuse and Pittsburgh into 7th and 8th place. On the other hand, you know that statement is false because On The Banks voted Rutgers No. 1. Such is the duality of the power rankings.
I can honestly say I have no clue where UConn, or anyone else for that matter is going to finish this year. I doubt many other people would feel confident in their title pick either, especially since the odds of a wacky two, three or four-way tie are as high as ever. But I voted anyway, and so did my compatriots, and if our votes are any indication we all think that Louisville, South Florida and Rutgers are probably going to be pretty good. We also think that Temple is going to be very bad. Between the two ends, things get a bit more fuzzy, something that probably won't be resolved by the steady diet of cupcakes the Big East will be consuming this weekend. The toughest matchup is probably Syracuse's -- they play Northwestern -- which says a lot about the quality of the Week 1 schedule and even more about the quality of Kentucky (Louisville's opponent).
As usual, the results and individual ballots are listed below. Add your thoughts in the comments and we'll see you back here next week for more rankings. Until then enjoy the end of Big East football, such as it is.
1. Louisville (6) (0-0): 55 points
