It's Big East awards season and UConn has two players getting some recognition. Sophomore guard Jeremy Lamb was named to the All-Big East First Team by the Big East coaches and Andre Drummond made the league's All-Rookie Team.
Lamb was the only sophomore on the First Team. He was joined by Jae Crowder and Darius Johnson-Odom of Marquette, Jason Clark of Georgetown, Kris Joseph of Syracuse and Kevin Jones of West Virginia. The Big East player of the year will come from the group. Expect it to be Crowder who was the only unanimous selection to the first team.
Drummond was joined by Chane Behanan of Louisville, Jerian Grant of Notre Dame, LaDontae Henton of Providence, Anthony Collins of USF, and Moe Harkless and D'Angelo Harrison of St. John's. Expect Harkless to win Big East Rookie of the Year. He was the only freshman to make an All-Big East Team (honorable mention) and he averaged 15.3 points and 8.5 rebounds on a team that was little more than freshmen.
