Welcome to the Big East Basketball Power Rankings. Every week from now through the end of the regular season the editors of SB Nation's Big East blogs will cast their vote in an attempt to measure the current state of the Big East. The results are below. This feature runs on Mondays, in theory.
Well that was an ugly week of basketball. Here's the list of Big East teams that didn't lose a game last week: Syracuse, Marquette, St. John's and Providence (who shouldn't count because they only played one game -- against DePaul). A week like that means the rankings are more exciting though as 12 of the 16 teams are in a different spot then they were last week. Syracuse and Marquette whoever are not part of those 12 as they held on to their top spots.
We do have a Hater of the Week this week, Cardiac Hill who left a defeated-by-St.John's Notre Dame team at No. 2, screwing Georgetown out of the three spot in the process. Our resident Pitt blog also dropped Louisville to seventh (ouch) and sent a mild amount of disrespect Rutgers' way by dropping them below team-of-the-moment St. John's. Speaking of St. John's, Rumble in the Garden tried to guarantee it could never win Homer of the Week again by slotting the Johnnie's 14th (one ballot had them as high as 10).
We'll see you back here next week for our final installment of the year.
