UConn 57 - Harvard 49: Beat the nerds, then get nerdy

UConn defeated Harvard, but the biggest test is to come.

David Butler II-USA TODAY Sports

We'll keep this short: tonight wasn't great, not by any means, but a win is a win and UConn beat Harvard tonight 57-49. DeAndre Daniels had easily his best game as a Husky, posting a career high 23 points. Enosch Wolf also got off to a hot start and Ryan Boatright kept the Huskies afloat, but.... that was it, at least for the first 30 minutes of the game, because those were the only three players to score until that point. So yeah, let's not do that again.

Anyway, UConn's win over Harvard is the last game they'll play for a week, but it's far from the most important thing they'll do this week because the players are headed into finals and their grades might be the last thing holding up a Kevin Ollie contract. Here's Kevin Duffy:

If Ollie does get an extension, don't expect it to happen until first semester grades are released. A source familiar with the situation told Hearst Connecticut that the UConn administration wants to be sure the team is performing in the classroom under Ollie's watch.

So yeah, tonight's win was good, but a win in the classroom next week will be even better. What were your thoughts on the game? Share them in the comments.
