TheOpenThread: New Mexico Lobos vs. UConn Huskies

David Butler II-US PRESSWIRE

It was a crazy day for college sports, and though we still don't know if UConn's going to wind up in the Big East, we do know one thing: UConn is one win over the New Mexico Lobos away from going undefeated in elimination games in the first year of the Kevin Ollie era. With no NCAA or Big East tournament waiting in March, tonight's Paradise Jam final is the last chance this team will get to bring a trophy back to Storrs and for their sake I hope they do it.

Doing it could prove to be a challenge though, as New Mexico figures to present the toughest challenge the Huskies will see in the Virgin Islands. Plus, UConn is coming off an emotional double-overtime win over Quinnipiac. New Mexico had a close shave of their own -- they needed to score 5 points in the closing seconds to escape with a one point win over George mason, but they probably had a more reasonable bed time than the Huskies.

The game tips off around 10:15 on CBS Sports. This is your OpenThread, so join the conversation below. Go Huskies and remember: take the stairs, because escalators are for cowards.
