The league is saying after a meeting Tuesday night that it has commitments from seven schools. But privately Connecticut wants to be in the ACC. Rutgers would love to get an invitation, too.

Navy nearly to Big East before Pitt, SU exited -
No official invitation was extended by the league, but both parties had extensive discussions about Navy joining the league in football only and it very well could have happened in the next couple of weeks, college football industry sources told Besides Navy, the Big East also was targeting Air Force and league sources felt confident both schools would have been Big East members, perhaps within the next year – that is until Pitt and Syracuse announced they were leaving for the ACC.

Pac-12 Decides to Stay at 12 Teams -
"O.U. would stay if they can get the right kind of deal out of Texas," a Big 12 official said. "Texas is doing everything they can to keep this together." The official said that Texas did not want to abandon the Big 12 for the Pac-12 because it did not want to share revenue from its Longhorn Network.

With all of the shuffling of conference affiliations that has already taken place and the moves that are about to be made, there is some concern by University of Connecticut fans that their Huskies will be left behind. But UConn President Susan Herbst and Gov. Dannel P. Malloy said Tuesday that's not going to happen.
