In the middle, Seymour's Mike Osiecki (6-1, 238), a redshirt freshman, is backing up Yawin Smallwood, another redshirt freshman who earned a starting outside spot in the spring, then moved to the middle with junior Jerome Williams out with a sore knee; he's expected to return in October.

The University of Connecticut volleyball team closed out the first weekend of action during the 2011 season this evening, as the Huskies ended the TCU Tournament with a 1-2 record. UConn defeated Grambling State and fell to Texas Tech and the host Horned Frogs.
