TheOpenThread: Fairfield vs. UConn

Are you ready for the Olander bowl? If you're not, you better start preparing, and quick, because if the coverage leading up to tonight's game is any indicator, you're going to hear a lot about how Ryan (Fairfield) and Tyler (UConn) Olander are playing each other for the first time. The cliff notes of what you're likely to hear: They never finished 1-on-1 games because they ended in fights, their family has made up "FairConn" T-shirts for tonight's game, and Denham Brown scored 111 points in a high school game.

Beyond the Battle for the Olander household, the game -- which is UConn's last before starting Big East play -- should present a nice tune-up for the Huskies. Ken Pom has the Stags at a respectable 108 (they're buoyed by their 55th-ranked defensive efficency) and they did beat their only common opponent, Holy Cross, by 21 (UConn waxed the Crusaders by 37).

Keep an eye on BC transfer Rakim Sanders who should present a nice challenge for the combo of DeAndre Daniels and Roscoe Smith.

On the UConn end it'll be interesting to see if the Huskies picked up where they left off against Holy Cross and work the ball inside, or if they'll revert to their pre-finals guard-based attack.
