Big East Football Power Rankings Week 13

Welcome back to the Big East Football Power Rankings. Every week the editors of SB Nation's Big East blogs will cast their vote in an attempt to measure the current state of the Big East. The results are below.

Earlier this year Miami lost to a Randy Edsall-coached Maryland team (currently 2-9). Late last week, Miami beat South Florida 6-3, and now, all but one voting blog (us) thinks South Florida isn't the worse team in the conference. Such is life in the Big East.

The two constants in the polls this week are West Virginia and Syracuse who held on to first and last, respectively,  by not playing. Cincinnati, who 96 hours ago seemed primed to win the Big East, scored a whopping three points against Rutgers. Rutgers and Louisville (voted 6th and 7th in our Week 1 poll) are now second and third, and the conference makes no sense whatsoever.

The biggest mindf@#* of them all is that a mostly-terrible Virginia team has positioned itself to win the ACC, so it's entirely possible that six weeks from now the Cardinals or the Scarlet Knights will win the Orange Bowl. Luckily by that point the Big East basketball schedule will have started and we won't have to pay attention anymore. I can't wait.
