UConn soccer earns No. 3 overall seed in NCAA tournament

The UConn men's soccer team is the No. 3 overall seed in this year's NCAA tournament, securing them home field advantage through the quarterfinals. A top seed seemed in doubt after the Huskies stumbled a bit down the stretch of the regular season and suffered an OT loss to St. John's in the Big East Tournament final on Sunday. The Huskies will open the tournament on Sunday, taking on the winner of Stony Brook and Monmouth.

It is the 32nd time the Huskies have made the tournament and the 14th straight bid for the school.

The overall top seed was North Carolina, who was followed by Creighton. Boston College received the 4th seed. Other seeded Big East teams in the tournament are South Florida (7), St. John's (9) and Louisville (12). West Virginia, Rutgers and Providence also made the field.
