Welcome back to the 2010-2011 Big East Power Rankings. The rules are simple, we've invited the SB Nation (or friend of SB Nation) blog for each team to cast a vote. They rank the teams from one to 16 and then we bring you the results. Enjoy.
Can you figure out this conference? I sure as hell can't. Everyone we thought was good -- Pittsburgh, Villanova, UConn and Syracuse -- lost. Teams that had been struggling -- Georgetown, Louisville and Notre Dame -- suddenly turned into killers and the whole conference turned into a massive, jumbled mess.
The ballots were all over the place this week -- UConn, Louisville, Notre Dame and Villanova all got votes as No. 2, but on other ballots some of those same teams checked in as low as No. 7. So good luck figuring out the conference, because this week I'm not even going to try.
Traditionally we finish up by giving out a Homer of the Week and a Hater of the Week award. This week I'm adding in a wrinkle by tossing in a Crazy Person of the Week award as well. Luckily, there is not extra work for me because The Nova Blog is taking home all three. I'll let Chris explaing himself:
That's right, you are seeing DePaul at #1. They actually did what was expected of them this week, unlike the rest of the conference. I refuse to rank Georgetown ahead of 'Nova. I'm still not over Saturday.
Yeah, he deserves all three.
