The Fiesta Bowl OpenThread: UConn Huskies vs. Oklahoma Sooners

New, comments

After a month-long wait, the big day is finally here. The UConn Huskies will take the field tonight in Glendale, Arizona to face down the seven-time national champion Oklahoma Sooners in the Fiesta Bowl.

Ten years ago, this was looked at as a wild dream, but it's one that Randy Edsall has delivered, and man does it feel good.

We've spent the last year telling you that yes, this UConn team could actually make it to the BCS, and so they have. We never promised they could win in it though. I'm not here to tell you the Huskies will beat Oklahoma. They certainly could, anything is possible, but as Meacham laid out yesterday, it is going to be tough.

Win or lose, my dominant emotion is going to be pride. I'll be proud of this program and how far it has come, proud of the young men on the field and proud of my school.

The game kicks off at 8:30. ESPN has your TV coverage. This is your OpenThread. Go Huskies.
