Just when you thought the endless NCAA investigation into eight major recruiting violations by the men's basketball program was set to end, it has returned to a state of not having an end once again.

The university announced on Friday that "involved coaches" have asked for and were granted an extension to submit their responses to the NCAA Committee of Infractions' probe.

The original due date of Aug. 20 has now been pushed back to Sept. 3.

The Connecticut Post, citing an unnamed source, says the request was made by former director of basketball operations Beau Archibald, who, along with assistant coach Pat Sellers, resigned from the team after the notice of allegations was served in late May.

According to The Post, UConn officials are tentatively scheduled to appear before the committee in mid-October.
