Good news and bad news for UConn baseball today. The bad, as evidenced by TheOpenThread, was UConn's frustrating 3-0 loss to the St. John's Red Storm in the final of the Big East Tournament.

The good news came a few hours later when it was announced that UConn had been tapped to host one of the 16 NCAA regionals. The regional, which will be played at Thomas Dodd stadium in Norwich (current home of the Connecticut Tigers, former home of my once minorly-beloved Norwich Navigators), will feature three other teams, who will be announced tomorrow. The regional will have a double-elimination format and run from Friday through Sunday, with the winner advancing to a super regional the following week.

Tickets go on sale tomorrow and are pretty cheap at $28 for a regional package and $8 for an individual game ($6 if you are a student). For more info, check out UConnHuskies.com.
