It's official, and it's basically what we've been expecting for the last 24 hours, if not more: the 2010 Big East champion UConn Huskies will be heading to Glendale, Ariz., to take on No. 7 Oklahoma in the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl.
The game will take place January 1 at 8:30 p.m. at University of Phoenix Stadium. If you're planning on going, I encourage you to get your tickets at UConnBowl.com.
Congratulations to Randy Edsall and the Huskies. UConn will be big, big underdogs against the talented Sooners, led by QB Landry Jones and a fierce defense, but we'll worry about that later. We'll also have plenty of stuff on the Sooners over the next four weeks.
In the meantime, I'd also like to use this post to let you know that I will be appearing over at our Oklahoma SBNation affiliate, Crimson & Cream Machine at 10:00 ET tonight (9:00 CT). They'll be hosting their live weekly podcast and they've asked me to discuss the matchup. Hope you'll join us.
