Report: Miami narrows search to Edsall, two others

Well, looks like I've got a little bit of egg on my face.

The Miami Herald is reporting that the Miami Hurricanes have narrowed their search for a new football head coach to three candidates: Temple's Al Golden, the Montreal Aloette's (CFL) Marc Trestman, and one Randy Howard Edsall.

No favorite has been named, officially, but all signs, as of late Saturday, point away from Edsall, despite a superior coaching record.

Hurricanes athletic director Kirby Hocutt flew down to North Carolina on Saturday to meet and discuss the position with Trestman, who was a Miami offensive assistant in the early 1980s and holds a law degree from the school, according to the Herald.

Hocutt was expected to meet with Temple Sunday, per the Herald. No word on a meeting with Big E, but the Herald did receive a nice parting message from the always-ornary Mike Enright:

"We never comment on jobs here or jobs elsewhere, on our searches or on other people's searches,'' Enright said.

A decision could be reached by Monday.
