Are you ready for some mid-day basketball? The Huskies are taking on Wichita St. today (ESPN2, or if you can screw around at work, ESPN3), the game tips off at 3:00 on the east coast (10 a.m. local time). I doubt I'll be able to make it to TheOpenThread, but it's here for your enjoyment.
It's insane to describe any November game as important, so I won't, but it's worth noting that outside of two marquee matchups in January, the Huskies don't have a lot of meat on their non-conference schedule, something that might matter come March. A win against Wichita St. today would be a nice feather in UConn's cap, plus it sets up a second round matchup against Michigan St. A loss damns UConn to the loser's bracket and sets up a much less appealing matchup on Tuesday against Chaminade.
