Arrest made in Howard Murder (UPDATE)

Jown W. Lomax III

John W. Lomax III

A Bloomfield man, John W. Lomax III, has been charged with the murder of UConn cornerback Jasper Howard this morning. I'll keep this brief because I do not have anything to add beyond what the Courant is currently reporting, but it appears Lomax, 21, was at the dance where Howard was killed along with John Hood, the Bloomfield man who was arrested in connection with the case last week. Lomax is being held on $2 million bail and police have yet to locate a murder weapon despite searching Swan Lake and storm drains on campus.

From the Courtant's updated report: Lomax has officially been charged with first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit first-degree assault. In addition two other men have been charged. Hakim Muhammad, a 20-year-old from Bloomfield was charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree assault and Jamal Todd, 21, was charged with falsely reporting an incident and reckless endangerment for pulling the fire alarm that coincided with the incident.
