Football

  • Interesting article from the Courant's Des Connor. The paper is apparently going to be tracking the physical growth of redshirt freshman d-lineman Kendall Reyes the rest of the season. A rising star on the d-line who shined in the Blue-White game and has compiled five tackles and half a sack this season, Reyes has already added 20 pounds to his original weight of 245 when he arrived in Storrs in the summer of '07. The print version of the Courant has much more info, including a There's also a big chart (which I just found at 6 p.m.), but I'm not sure how I feel about this one. The topic is certainly unique, but I don't think I will be anxiously awaiting the next part of the series to see how many ho-hos he ate that week. Still, you have to commend Des and the paper for trying something.

Post was getting cumbersome, so the rest are after the jump.

  • Neil Ostrout of the CT Post has a featurey story on Donald Brown being a cyborg, and that the back doesn't think he'll wear down despite his heavy workload. It sort of rehashes a story earlier in the week (and again here), but this is what you get when 50 papers cover the same beat. The link, though, also has a midseason report card; UConn did not make the honor roll.
  • Come December, I could be in Louisville or San Diego ... I like it.

More surely to come after Edsall's conference call, which I can't make.
