TheOpenThread: UConn Huskies vs. Maryland Terrapins

Loading Scores

It has only been 22 months since Randy Edsall took UConn to the Fiesta Bowl and then immediately departed for Maryland, but it seems like it's been a lot longer. Edsall did a remarkable job while he was at UConn, but the way he departed left a bad taste in the mouths of a lot of UConn fans, myself included. Since he left Paul Pasqualoni has tried to put his own stamp on the program, for better or worse. The better comes in the form of Don Brown's defense, which has been one of the best in the nation through two games. The worse is George DeLeone's offense, which only takes breaks from not scoring to infuriate fans by running the wildcat.

Unfortunately for the Huskies, the key today really is that offense. The defense will be there but they can't do it all alone and Chandler Whitmer and Lyle McCombs are going to have to put points on the board.

To get prepped for the game make sure to check out our Q&A with Testudo Times, both here and there. They also have a terrific game preview up which is worth a read.

The game kicks off at 12:30. SNY and ESPN3 have your tv coverage. This is your OpenThread. Join us in the comments below. Beat Edsall and Go Huskies.
