UConn loses their junior center at a time they cannot afford to.
Bad news out of Storrs today, as junior center Enosch Wolf is out indefinitely with a concussion suffered during practice. This is bad news in almost every way. First, as team news, this seriously depletes UConn's already anemic frontcourt. We haven't seen a lot of Wolf in his first two years, but he was expected to carry a large load in the front court. This probably means UConn will use a lot of very small lineups (A Smith, a Smith, my kingdom for a Roscoe Smith). You can also expect to see freshman Phil Nolan get a lot more playing time than he otherwise would.
This is also bad for Wolf healthwise, seeing as he missed time last year with two separate concussions. I don't know how this projects out long term, but three concussions in a year can't be good.
Finally, this has to be tremendously disappointing for Wolf personally. UConn is two weeks away from travelling to his native Germany to open their season, and the wording of that tweet makes it seem unlikely he'll play.
