"I volunteered ... this is the first time I've publicly have said this, to sit out games this year," Calhoun said on the Dan Patrick Show, according to CBSSports.com. "Whether I agree or disagree with the NCAA is not important. I am the head coach at the University of Connecticut, therefore I should take full responsibility for anything that happened."
To all those ESPN people (*cough*Doug Gottlieb*cough*) who felt the NCAA should have suspended Calhoun during this season, he proposed that idea to them. Apparently they turned it down because they didn't want to mess with the good thing that was eventually going to go down in March & April.

Edsall: Thanks for building the program, but you are a huge douche (and I hope you fail miserably in Maryland.) correction...it may have been partly Hathaway's fault, but still could have told your players in person...So I'll change my stance to: "I don't care what you do in Maryland."
